Atomic Age: Discovery and Evolution of Nuclear Science

Atomic Age: Discovery and Evolution of Nuclear ScienceMake plans now to attend the "Atomic Age: Discovery and Evolution of Nuclear Science" exhibit at the Linda Hall Library in Kansas City.  The atomic age began in small laboratories with a handful of scientists long before Trinity.  The exhibition will describe these early discoveries by pioneer physicists, as well as highlight scientists associated with the Manhattan Project, explore President Eisenhower's Atoms for Peace initiative, and examine the direct influence and impact of these events on modern peaceful applications of the nuclear science in energy and medicine.  The exhibit opens Wednesday, October 10, 2010 with a reception at 6:00 p.m. Learn more about the exhibit at http://atomic.lindahall.org/index.shtml.

The exhibition includes an interactive kiosk application designed and developed by 305 Spin. The radioactive dose quiz calculates the amount of radiation you are exposed to annually based on your answers and where you live.

Does Your Business Really Need a Facebook Page?

Facebook Questions

So you've heard everyone talking about getting a Facebook page -
but is a Facebook page for your business worth the effort?

We think it is. Check out some of the reasons below:

  • Location, Location, Location  There are millions of very active users on Facebook. It's probably a good idea to have your business represented on the world's most popular virtual meeting place.
  • Put a Personal Face on Your Company and Amplify Engagement With Your Customers  While your website can offer great information about your business, Facebook can serve as a less formal way to connect and interact with customers. Regularly updated posts can offer a trusted source of information about your business to customers.
  • Collect Valuable Feedback  Wonder what your customers would think about a new service or product or what they think about one you are already offering? Now you can ask them through your Facebook page and get timely feedback. People love ways of engaging and feeling like they are contributing to important decisions.
  • Tap Into Digital Word-of-Mouth  Everyone knows word-of-mouth is one of the most powerful ways to market your business, so why not get people talking about your business online? When someone becomes a fan of your business on Facebook, your name and logo will appear on their profile page and your name will appear in their profile feed, so even more users will be able to discover your Facebook page through their friends' profiles and Facebook searches.
  • And One Last Thing  It's highly likely that your competition and prospects are already using Facebook.

Pre-order James Cotton's Giant -- Autographed Copies Available!!

James Cotton Blues MusicianBetween his huge, blast-furnace sound, his larger-than-life personality, and his massive frame, Grammy Award-winning blues harmonica master James "Mr. Superharp" Cotton is a blues giant in every respect.  In 2010, James Cotton celebrated his 66th year as a professional musician (starting at the age of nine).  Mentored in the Delta by Sonny Boy Williamson and Howlin' Wolf, Cotton moved to Chicago and spent a decade playing with Muddy Waters before striking out on his own as a band leader, cutting over 30 albums (including three for Alligator) and touring worldwide.  Now he returns to the Alligator family with his new CD Giant, a ferocious blast of boogie blues.

The new CD features twelve tracks, including four new Cotton originals and co-writes, alongside songs made famous by Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Ivory Joe Hunter and more. Throughout his career, Cotton has always led great bands, and the players on Giant are no exception. With guitarists/vocalists Slam Allen and Tom Holland, bassist Noel Neal and drummer Kenny Neal, Jr., Giant is not just a reminder of Cotton's legendary status, it is a vibrant, hard-hitting album made by one of the true masters of the blues.

Pre-order GIANT from James Cotton for the sale price of $14.98 (includes FREE U.S. shipping) and the first 200 will receive an autographed copy.
