Make plans now to attend the "Atomic Age: Discovery and Evolution of Nuclear Science" exhibit at the Linda Hall Library in Kansas City. The atomic age began in small laboratories with a handful of scientists long before Trinity. The exhibition will describe these early discoveries by pioneer physicists, as well as highlight scientists associated with the Manhattan Project, explore President Eisenhower's Atoms for Peace initiative, and examine the direct influence and impact of these events on modern peaceful applications of the nuclear science in energy and medicine. The exhibit opens Wednesday, October 10, 2010 with a reception at 6:00 p.m. Learn more about the exhibit at

In 2010, James Cotton celebrated his 66th year as a professional musician (starting at the age of nine). Mentored in the Delta by Sonny Boy Williamson and Howlin' Wolf, Cotton moved to Chicago and spent a decade playing with Muddy Waters before striking out on his own as a band leader, cutting over 30 albums (including three for Alligator) and touring worldwide.
