23rd Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival

The 23rd Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival is scheduled to take place in Clarksdale, Mississippi, August 6 - 8.  Often called the "Birthplace of the Blues," Clarksdale is home to a wealth of blues history which can be found at the Delta Blues Museum and at historical sites throughout the area.  Clarksdale's hometown tribute to native sons Ike Turner and the Rocket 88, musicians who launched the world's first rock and roll records, promises to be a dynamite celebration, reports Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival organizers.  View the 2010 Festival lineup. 305 Spin has been a proud supporter of the Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival since 1996.
