Alligator Records’ Bruce Iglauer Named A Chicagoan Of The Year

It is with great pleasure that we congratulate our longtime friend and client, Alligator Records’ Bruce Iglauer for being named one of nine Chicagoans of the year by The Chicago Tribune. Alligator Records kicked off 2011 in February with the release of the 2-CD set The Alligator Records 40th Anniversary Collection. In June, during the Chicago Blues Festival, Iglauer received a proclamation from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Mayor Emanuel honored Iglauer’s contribution to the city’s musical heritage on a night dedicated to the label’s anniversary, featuring performances by blues icons Lonnie Brooks, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, Michael “Iron Man” Burks, Rick Estrin, and Shemekia Copeland.  Among the many other highlights of the label’s 40th anniversary, in July, rolled out a new Alligator Records website built by 305 Spin featuring over 3,000 track samples from over 280 albums by more than 100 of the leading blues artists from yesterday and today. 305 Spin is very proud of everything that Alligator Records celebrated in 2011, and we wish them continued success and growth in 2012 and for many years to come.

Check out the website at www.alligator.com. And while you are at it join us in congratulating Bruce on Facebook at www.facebook.com/alligatorrecords.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from 305 Spin

Happy Holidays From 305 Spin

Greetings, Happy Holidays and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

2011 has been an eventful year. What a year of wild weather here in Central Missouri and across the US. We had a blizzard in February, tornados in May, and a very strong windstorm in August that temporarily shut down the Missouri State Fair. Joplin is still recovering from the tornado there in May, and we encourage everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we look forward to 2012 and their ongoing rebuilding of the city.

And through it all, there has been a whirlwind of work going on at 305 Spin including new websites, some major applications and lots of SEO and Social Media initiatives. We have had many fun website projects again this year including: Aquion, Inc., Cheffies, the Sedalia Convention and Visitors Bureau, Buddy Guy's Legends, Alligator Records, Budget Mobile, Lenny's Sub Shops, Steamboat Sunrise, StarhavenbyLiz, Swanky's Taco Shop, and many more. From mobile friendly websites and iPhone and Android applications to extranets and online web to print projects, it has been another amazing year. Thank you!

And thank you for thinking about us with all the great gifts and cards. Once again, we will be making a donation on behalf of all our clients to some select worthy causes. We have been doing this for several years and many of you have expressed your appreciation for this approach. This year we are pleased to announce that in addition to our contribution to the Peggy White Memorial - Ponca Bible Camp in Ponca, Arkansas, we will also be making contributions to Open Door, a local organization that provides meals and basic necessity resources in our area; Sedalia's American Red Cross; and Sacred Heart School's National Honor Society sponsored Christmas Eve dinner for the unemployed, elderly, and disabled in Pettis County.

We are so fortunate to have such a great group of clients to work with and friends to share with. We are extremely excited about what 2012 will bring and look forward to celebrating more successes with you throughout the New Year. We will continue to have ingenious solutions up our sleeves. Having such a great, creative team of talented individuals here at 305 Spin is pretty exciting.

Blessings and Goodwill.
Peace on Earth
All our Best to you and yours

You may not know that 305 Spin can develop a custom intranet/extranet for almost any business to business or customer service situation. We have extensive experience in building intranet/extranet applications for a wide variety of businesses including international corporations. Recent projects have included "Pipeline" for Rainsoft, "Guy" for Inter-state Studios and Publishing Co., "STAR" for Acorn Research, "Win/Loss" for Boomtown Casinos, a loyalty card program for Whataburger of East Texas, and a franchisee extranet for Lenny's Sub Shops. There are many business processes today that are better served by a web-centric solution than by legacy applications that are platform or software license specific. A web-centric solution allows companies to provide the application to your users anywhere at any time with the only requirement being a current web browser and a secure login.  We would love to hear your feedback about any of these projects.

If you would like more information about any of the projects listed above or about setting up an intranet/extranet for your business, please don't hesitate to call us at 660-826-3056 or email amanda@305spin.com.

Alligator Records Featured on Grammy.com

Alligator RecordsLong time 305 Spin client and specialty label founder Bruce Iglauer blows the candles out on a milestone anniversary and looks ahead.

Bruce Iglauer started Alligator Records in Chicago in 1971 with a $2,500 inheritance from his grandfather, and the loan of a down payment on a Chevy Vega from his mother Harriett so he could service retailers with an album by Hound Dog Taylor & The HouseRockers in a time-honored fashion: out of his trunk.

For only $900, Iglauer produced the recording and subsequently pressed 1,000 copies — giving birth to Alligator Records.

This was more than a decade before there was either a Chicago Blues Festival — which Iglauer helped start in 1984 — or a dedicated blues GRAMMY category, which debuted in the form of Best Traditional Blues Recording in 1982.
